The Desert Hills Thunder will head out to challenge the Hurricane Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Tuesday, Desert Hills came up short against Pine View and fell 3-1. The Thunder haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 14-25, 25-18, 25-17.

Desert Hills' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kai James, who had 16 digs and two assists, and Gerritt Grondel, who had five digs and two blocks. James is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last five games he's played.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Hurricane and Snow Canyon, and Snow Canyon kept the tradition alive. Hurricane took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Snow Canyon on Tuesday.
Hurricane came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-23, 26-24, 21-25, 25-23.
Desert Hills' defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-6. As for Hurricane, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's game: Desert Hills has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.1 aces per game. However, it's not like Hurricane struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
