Valley View barely beat Mid Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Spartans on Monday. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Valley View never let Mid Valley on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-9, 25-15.

It was another big night for Layla Marino, who had nine aces, seven digs, and six kills. That's the most aces she has posted since back in September. Nevaeh Evans was another key player, getting four digs, two blocks, and two aces.
They weren't the only good servers: Valley View was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in four consecutive contests.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Arianna Vitaletti, who had 12 digs. Vitaletti has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alecia Hatch, who had ten digs and one assist.
Valley View's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Mid Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
Valley View wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Scranton on the 16th. As for Mid Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against North Pocono on the 16th.
