Southern Academy hadn't done well against Morgan Academy recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Southern Academy Cougars came out on top in a nail-biter against the Morgan Academy Senators, sneaking past 14-13. The Cougars' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Brayden Hennigan made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with one home run and two RBI.
