Evergreen - Clements recap Oct. 16, 2012
Proctor Academy extended the longest winning streak in Evergreen - Clements this week by beating Hyde, 57-21. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Proctor Academy took down the Wolfpack 57-21 last week, the largest margin of any game. Blake Joppy ran for 165 yards in the win.
New Hampton School's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Milan Murray threw for 35 and one touchdown and Matthew Dean had 35 yards receiving. On the ground Todd Collier chipped in 197 yards.
Robert Donnelly made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Huskies beat Hebron Academy. The 5-foot-9 freshman grabbed two sacks.
New Hampton School's Murray and Dean have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Murray has thrown for 371 yards this season, while Dean, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 16 catches for 357 yards. Joppy from the Hornets leads the league in rushing with 611 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Pingree takes on the Huskies. At the moment, the Highlanders are in fourth, while New Hampton School is in second.
Holderness and Pingree played the most hotly contested game in Evergreen - Clements this week, with Holderness eventually emerging with a 35-34 victory.
