Guilford is 9-1 against Rockford Auburn since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Knights at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Guilford has four straight wins, Rockford Auburn has 30 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Tuesday, Guilford got the win against Jefferson by a conclusive 14-4. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won four matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

James Versino made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Versino was even better at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Guilford's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Guilford got a big performance out of Khaliel White, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Albert Wonn, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Guilford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Rockford Auburn came up short against Guilford on Monday, falling 21-1.
Rockford Auburn's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Guilford, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Rockford Auburn's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Guilford has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Rockford Auburn, though, as they've been averaging only 3.9 strikeouts. Will Guilford keep running through batters, or will the Knights buck the trend?
