Dixon has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Richlands Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Dixon has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Dixon pushed their score all the way to 69 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 86-69 fall against Croatan. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game two weeks ago (66), Dixon still had to take the loss.
Despite their loss, Dixon saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Cooper Tozier, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and five assists, was perhaps the best of all. Brayden Anderson-Sidbury was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Richlands suffered their biggest defeat since December 1, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Swansboro 63-34. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Richlands has suffered against Swansboro since January 7, 2022.
Dixon has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Richlands, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
Dixon couldn't quite finish off Richlands in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 and fell 56-54. Thankfully for Dixon, Dashaun Hooker (who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
