Skyline will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Utah Rankings (they are ranked 80th, while Green Canyon is ranked 17th).
Skyline struggled with assists on Tuesday (Judge Memorial Catholic had 700% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Skyline took a serious blow against Judge Memorial Catholic, falling 62-34.
The match pitted two key players against one another: Cami Groberg and Esther Analjok. Analjok had a solid game and scored 8 points along with 13 rebounds. Meanwhile, Groberg did her best for the losing side, scoring 8 points along with 4 blocks.
Meanwhile, Green Canyon entered their tilt with Morgan with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Green Canyon came out on top against Morgan by a score of 53-40 on Tuesday.
Janalynn Blotter was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. The matchup was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marissa Best, who scored 8 points along with 11 rebounds and 5 blocks.
The last time Skyline won on the road was back last Thursday. Having now lost three straight away games, they've bumped their record down to 1-5. As for Green Canyon, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Skyline have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 25.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Green Canyon struggles in that department as they've been even better at 28.6 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
