After a string of three wins, the Deerfield Beach Bucks's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They suffered a rough 72-52 defeat at the hands of Western. Deerfield Beach was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-18.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Western to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maddox Fowles, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Fowles scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Stefan Frisby, who scored 14 points along with five assists.
Deerfield Beach's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Western, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.
Deerfield Beach will be playing in front of their home fans against Fort Lauderdale at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Western, they will head out on the road to face off against Cooper City at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cooper City has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
