Mount Union has gone a perfect 3-0 against Curwensville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Trojans will look to defend their home field against the Golden Tide at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Mount Union barely beat Northern Bedford County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 11-2 win on Tuesday. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Payton Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Sydnee Harris was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kaylynn Wharton, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Curwensville waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Black Knights/Damsels get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The Golden Tide's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Addison Siple was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Siple was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Kylah Wos and Ava Hainsey did most of the damage at the plate: Wos went 1-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple, while Hainsey got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Addison Warren was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Curwensville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Curwensville's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mount Union, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mount Union has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Curwensville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Mount Union's way against Curwensville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Mount Union made off with an 11-5 win. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Golden Tide have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
