Crest waltzed into their match on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Shelby Golden Lions a 9-0 shutout. Considering the Chargers have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Crest's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Shelby, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crest will host Kings Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chargers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mountaineers have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Shelby, they will be playing at home against Burns at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
