Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Round Valley Elks, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 28-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sabino on Thursday. Round Valley's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
It was another big night for Cameron Hackworth, who rushed for 151 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 218 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes. Hackworth was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards. Zachary Binford-Wiggins and his 87 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Sabino's win.
Round Valley's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Sabino, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Round Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sabino will head out on the road to face off against Mohave at 6:00 p.m. on November 18th. Mohave will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
