Two dominant backs in Deshaun Hille and Rashad Robinson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The University City Centurions will head out to face off against the Lincoln Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
University City took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They managed a 49-45 win over Madison.

Quentyn DeMara continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 484 yards and four touchdowns while completing 90.9% of his passes, and also rushing for 83 yards. He has become a key player for University City: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 250 passing yards, but 1-2 otherwise. 83 of DeMara's passing yards were hauled in by Desmond DeMara, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Meanwhile, Lincoln waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took their game with ease, bagging a 54-3 victory over the Vikings. With the Hornets ahead 24-3 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
University City better focus on containing Junior Curtis and Kainan Manna as the pair were huge in Lincoln's win. Curtis rushed for 68 yards and three scores on only nine carries, while Manna threw for 168 yards and one TD on only eight passes. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Curtis a new career-high.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Lincoln proved: they limited La Jolla to a paltry 1.4 yards per carry. While five picked up at least five total tackles, Jaydin Lewis stood above the rest. He picked up two sacks and made five total tackles (3.0 for loss). Lincoln didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.5.
Lincoln's defense didn't let Ty Tortorice, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Lewis was the leader with two. He has been hot, having also posted five or more total tackles the last six times he's played. Lincoln received some extra help from Jamari Sherell, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
University City's record is now 5-2. As for Lincoln, their record now sits at 6-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. University City has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 190 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Lincoln struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 245.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
University City was taken down by Lincoln 49-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2023. Can the Centurions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
