Hutto is a perfect 3-0 against Round Rock Westwood since November of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Hippos will head out on the road to face off against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Hutto not only won last Friday, but they posted their biggest win since August 30, 2024 (when they won 63-8). They blew past Manor, posting a 56-7 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Hippos' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 179th, while the Mustangs are ranked 472nd).

Keilan Chavies was his usual excellent self, rushing for 168 yards and three scores on only six carries. Those 168 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Jaiden Fields also helped out with an impressive 93 receiving yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hutto was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 227 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Round Rock Westwood). They claimed a resounding 49-14 win over Manor. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won three in a row.
Hutto better keep an eye on Wade Allen. He was instrumental in Round Rock Westwood's win, rushing for 293 yards and four TDs while picking up 16.3 yards per carry. Allen really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Norrell, who picked up 101 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Round Rock Westwood's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-3. As for Hutto, their record now sits at 3-1.
Thursday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Hutto has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 155 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Round Rock Westwood struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 230 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Hutto strolled past Round Rock Westwood in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 42-24. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hippos since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
