IV Section III recap November 19, 2013
River Valley added to the longest winning streak in IV Section III this week by beating Snowflake, 28-14. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
River Valley led the league in scoring this week by notching 28 points on the Lobos. Brandon Long ran for 212 yards during the win.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Wickenburg's Charles Johnson and Cloud Fritts have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-0 quarterback Johnson has thrown for 1,226 yards this season, while Fritts has 41 catches for 536 yards. Terry Staggs' team's Long leads the league in rushing yards with 1,934.
The Dust Devils made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,509 from 3,664. The improvement was largely due to a 28-14 victory over Snowflake last week.
