The Poth Pirates will face off against the Luling Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Poth will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Stockdale on Friday. The Pirates put the hurt on the Brahmas with a sharp 12-5 victory.
Karlee Kroll was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Bella Serna was incredible, scoring three runs while going 4-for-4. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Jetta Jorden was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Luling had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Mustangs.
Like Poth, Luling also got a great game from a two-way player: Nedeyin Magallanez. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Magallanez was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Serenity Nunez, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Stevie West, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Luling hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.
Poth pushed their record up to 12-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Luling, the win got them back to even at 13-13.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Poth hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .355. However, it's not like Luling struggles in that department as they've averaged .344. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Poth's way against Luling when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Poth made off with a 16-0 victory. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
