Haylie Hightower spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on 13 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Lorianys Castanon Cruz was excellent, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Zoe Petersen, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Mulberry's record is now 3-4. As for DeSoto County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Looking ahead, Mulberry will head out on the road to challenge Davenport at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. DeSoto County will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hardee at 7:00 p.m. on March 21st.
