The Marcellus Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Hartford Huskies at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Marcellus came out on top against Cassopolis on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run second inning. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Rangers with a sharp 13-3 win. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Rangers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Parker Adams was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abram Coffey, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted over his last 14 matches. Another player making a difference was Brock McWilliams, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Marcellus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Hartford entered their tilt with Bangor on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Vikings.
The win got Hartford back to even at 10-10. As for Marcellus, their record now sits at 16-4.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Marcellus has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .478. However, it's not like Hartford struggles in that department as they've averaged .504. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Marcellus took their victory against Hartford in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
