St. Brendan found their leader in underclassman Geovanni Tobon, who rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Tobon was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards.
LaSalle's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Santiago Robles, who rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Another player making a difference was Stetsen Angelo, who threw for 230 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes.
St. Brendan's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.7 points per game. As for LaSalle, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Brendan will take on Barron Collier at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for LaSalle, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Northwestern at 7:00 p.m. Northwestern presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than LaSalle in Florida (Northwestern is ranked 76th, while LaSalle is ranked 296th).
