The Asotin Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Genesee Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Asotin has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 26.
DeSales hit Asotin with a six-run second inning last Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers lost 10-4 to the Irish.

Kiera Nielson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and eight unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
Meanwhile, Genesee made easy work of Orofino on Wednesday and carried off a 16-3 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won 13 games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kendra Meyer made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Meyer was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Sophie Johnson was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted over her last six contests. Sydney Banks was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
Genesee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Orofino only posted an OBP of .053.
Genesee pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Asotin, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-15.
Asotin skirted past Genesee 13-12 in their previous matchup back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
