Lakewood waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Valley Forge Patriots 14-4. Considering the Rangers have won six games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Ella Bower was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Lakewood let Madison Comer and Emily Gillick run wild. Comer went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Gillick went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. That's the most hits Gillick has posted since back in March.
