The Yelm Tornados pushed their score all the way to 59 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 67-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Timberline. Yelm has not had much luck with Timberline recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Timberline's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaydn Ward, who scored 20 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ward has scored all season. Darrell Gipson was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Yelm's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Timberline, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Yelm will be playing in front of their home fans against Peninsula at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Peninsula is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Timberline, they will head out on the road to face off against Capital at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
