Winston Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over East Rankin Academy. That's more bragging rights for Winston Academy, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Reed Yates was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Ben Caperton, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Winston Academy pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for East Rankin Academy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
