Vicky Erickson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Ryan Works also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Hauser never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Mooresville Christian on Thursday. They blew past the Eagles 17-3.
Kinley Krise and Ollyvea Fiesbeck made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Krise pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Meanwhile, Fiesbeck pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Krise went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Fiesbeck went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Hauser got a massive performance out of Allie Zapfe, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three hits gave Zapfe a new career-high. Cheyenne Moody was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Hauser always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mooresville Christian only posted an OBP of .350.
The win got Hauser back to even at 1-1. As for Rising Sun, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Everything went Rising Sun's way against Hauser when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Rising Sun made off with a 12-0 victory. Do the Shiners have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
