The Ida Bluestreaks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Onsted Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Ida is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Onsted in Michigan (Ida is ranked 156th, while Onsted is ranked 363rd).
After a string of five wins, Ida's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. Their tough 50-25 defeat to Blissfield might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Ida has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Onsted was able to grind out a solid win over Hudson on Tuesday, taking the game 42-29. The win was just what Onsted needed coming off of a 63-43 loss in their prior matchup.
Onsted's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddie Borders, who scored seven points along with five steals. Borders hasn't dropped below four steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of JayElle Christian, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Ida's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4. As for Onsted, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.
Ida was able to grind out a solid win over Onsted in their previous meeting last Monday, winning 50-37. Will Ida repeat their success, or does Onsted have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
