The Jackson City Tigers will head out to square off against the Magoffin County Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Jackson City has three straight wins, Magoffin County has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
While Jackson City's victory against Menifee County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jacob Morgan, who went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jagger Lovins, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.
Jackson City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Magoffin County couldn't beat Knott County Central on Saturday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Hornets lost 14-4 to the Patriots.
Evan Reed made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Chance Risner was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Jackson City's record is now 15-11. As for Magoffin County, their loss dropped their record down to 2-22.
Magoffin County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Jackson City has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .458. It's a different story for Magoffin County, though, as they've only averaged .314. Will they be able to contain Jackson City's hitters?
