Meanwhile, American Heritage was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 49-43 to Jupiter.
Despite the defeat, American Heritage saw an underclassman step up: Zack Burrow scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Brendan Gerard, who scored nine points.
Somerset Academy - Canyons bumped their record down to 7-11 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.4 points per game. As for American Heritage, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-5 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Somerset Academy - Canyons, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 75-58 loss to American Heritage when the teams last played back in December of 2023.
