Lewisville came into their game  on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against  the Guyer Wildcats, falling  47-21. The  matchup marked the Farmers' lowest-scoring  contest so far this season.
 Despite the loss, Lewisville still got an impressive performance from   Derrick 'Dj' Martin Iii, who rushed for 91 yards and one  touchdown on only six carries. 'Dj' Martin Iii's longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Guyer to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Carter Morgan, who threw for 258 yards and one  TD on only 17 passes, and also punched in one  score on the ground. Those  258  passing yards gave  Morgan a new career-high.  Kaedyn Cobbs helped  Morgan out on the ground, rushing for 61 yards and three  touchdowns.
Lewisville's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Guyer, the  victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
 Lewisville and Guyer should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage  in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Farmers will  square off against  Little Elm  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday with a big rank  advantage  (18 vs. 403). Meanwhile,  Guyer (ranked 12th) will meet Braswell (ranked 250th)  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
