Liberty is 0-10 against the Eagles since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Liberty Lions will get right back to it and host the O'Connor Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
On Thursday, Liberty had to suffer through a rough 75-26 loss at the hands of the Vikings. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Liberty in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now lost five in a row.
Meanwhile, O'Connor struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Pioneers had 14 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. O'Connor fell 59-49 to the Pioneers.
Thalia Daniels put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Audrey Bhesania, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Liberty's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-15. As for O'Connor, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-8.
Liberty might still be hurting after the 53-27 loss they got from the Eagles in their previous meeting last Tuesday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Daniels, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Now that Liberty knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
