The Carver Yellowjackets will head out on the road to square off against the Triad Math and Science Academy Bengals at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Carver focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Carver was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 54-48 to Winston-Salem Prep. Carver has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kejuan Bruton, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Quinton Stone, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Triad Math and Science Academy suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 75-35 loss at the hands of College Prep & Leadership Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Triad Math and Science Academy in their matchups with College Prep & Leadership Academy: they've now lost six in a row.
Carver's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Triad Math and Science Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.
Everything came up roses for Carver against Triad Math and Science Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 77-50 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carver since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
