Baseball Recap: Caddo Wins Going Away Against Broken Bow

Caddo won the last time they faced Broken Bow and things went their way on Saturday too. The Bruins were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Savages. The result was nothing new for the Bruins, who have now won nine matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Jake McKay was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. McKay was also big at the plate, scoring four runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those four runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jake Mullens was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bayler Black, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Caddo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Caddo is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Broken Bow, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-3.

Caddo has already played their next match, a 9-0 loss against Calera on the 29th. As for Broken Bow, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-0 victory against Muldrow on the 31st.
