Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Vela

Vela extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Jordan Bustamante. The Vela Sabercats enjoyed a cozy 70-54 victory over the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North Raiders on Friday thanks in part to Bustamante, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and ten boards. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Aden Ybarra, who posted ten points and four steals. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Vela has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

Vela didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-54 win against McAllen Memorial on the 17th. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 65-40 victory against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial on the 17th.
