After losing to the Miller County Pirates the last time they met, the Randolph-Clay Red Devils decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Randolph-Clay walked away with a 65-53 win over Miller County on Friday.
Randolph-Clay's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaleen Gibson, who scored 19 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Gibson is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Nyquavious White, who scored 14 points along with two blocks.
Several Pirates players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Andrew Keown, who scored 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Javiah Powell, who scored 18 points.
Randolph-Clay is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Miller County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Randolph-Clay will square off against Seminole County at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Seminole County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Tuesday. As for Miller County, they will head out on the road to face off against Stewart County at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Stewart County is on a five-game streak of home losses, Miller County a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
