Ritchie County suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Thursday. They were beaten by St. Marys 78-46. Ritchie County found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and rack up 13 fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite the defeat, Ritchie County saw an underclassman step up: Chelsie Jeffrey scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Elsa Law, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Parkersburg Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Ritchie County, they bumped their record down to 5-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Parkersburg Catholic came up short against Ritchie County in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 42-32. Can Parkersburg Catholic avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
