The Windermere Wolverines will head out on the road to take on the Foundation Academy Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Windermere's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Foundation Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Windermere is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Celebration with a sharp 20-0 win two weeks ago. With that victory, the Wolverines brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Tessa Olofson was a standout: she went a perfect 5-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Walker, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
Windermere was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .531. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Foundation Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Horizon on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.
Riley Winters spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Sophia Smith and Elizabeth Ozim did most of the damage at the plate: Smith scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Ozim scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Windermere's record now sits at 5-6. As for Foundation Academy, their record is now 6-2.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Windermere hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .339. However, it's not like Foundation Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .347. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Windermere's way against Foundation Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Windermere made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Windermere since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
