Williams Valley hasn't had much luck against Schuylkill Haven recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Hurricanes at 4:30 p.m. Williams Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.

Williams Valley will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Weatherly on Tuesday. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 21-2 margin over Weatherly. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with Weatherly: they've now won seven in a row.

Brady Shomper made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Shomper was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Williams Valley got a massive performance out of Camden Berger, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Chase Deibert was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

Williams Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Weatherly only posted an OBP of .389.

Meanwhile, Schuylkill Haven earned an 8-3 victory over Minersville on Tuesday.

Schuylkill Haven is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Williams Valley, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Williams Valley couldn't quite get it done against Schuylkill Haven in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 8-3. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
