Open Bible Christian will head out on the road to challenge the First Assembly Christian Academy Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Open Bible Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully the Eagles like a good challenge.
Open Bible Christian pushed their score all the way to 58 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The match between them and CHESS Academy wasn't particularly close, with Open Bible Christian falling 73-58.
Meanwhile, First Assembly Christian Academy put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Gainesville Christian Community 66-33 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-16.
It was another big night for Danny Pascuma, who scored 21 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Quintin Roberts, who scored 13 points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Open Bible Christian's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-5. As for First Assembly Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.
Open Bible Christian came up short against the Eagles in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 51-47. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of First Assembly Christian Academy's Ta'Bryant Wooden, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds.
