Warhill is 0-10 against Lafayette since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Warhill Lions will be staying on the road to face off against the Lafayette Rams at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Warhill suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Bruton by a score of 54-51. While losing is never fun, Warhill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Bruton is ranked 90th).
Meanwhile, Lafayette pushed their score all the way to 71 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 75-71 hit to the loss column at the hands of New Kent. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Wednesday (60), Lafayette still had to take the loss.
Warhill's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Lafayette, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3.
Warhill might still be hurting after the 72-47 defeat they got from Lafayette in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Warhill avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
