After flying high against the Burns Sci-Tech Eagles last Friday, the Warner Christian Academy Eagles came back down to earth. Warner Christian Academy fell just short of Zarephath Academy by a score of 82-80. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Friday (56), Warner Christian Academy still had to take the loss.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ashton Flores, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Flores has scored all season. Kayleb Goolsby was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six assists and two steals.
Warner Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Zarephath Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 1-5.
Warner Christian Academy will stay at home for another game and welcome Trinity Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. Zarephath Academy will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Young Kids In Motion at 6:30 a.m. on January 18th.
