Rauner has been on the road for two straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Proviso East Pirates at 9:30 a.m. Rauner will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 480th, while Proviso East is ranked 121st).
Last Friday, Rauner escaped with a win against Rowe-Clark by the margin of a single free throw, 39-38.
Meanwhile, Proviso East pushed their score all the way to 66 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 76-66 to Chicago Mt. Carmel.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Isaiah Pickens , who scored 22 points. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Joaquin Dixon, who scored 16 points.
Rauner's win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.73 points. As for Proviso East, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
