On Tuesday, Saxony Lutheran was able to grind out a solid victory over Festus, taking the game 56-47. Given Saxony Lutheran's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Festus is ranked 208th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Saxony Lutheran got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Rebecca Johnson out in front who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. Abigail Haley was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
In what's become a running theme this season, Kennett gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They blew past Greenville, posting a 69-34 win on the road. Winning may never get old, but Kennett sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Saxony Lutheran has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Kennett, their victory bumped their record up to 17-4.
