The Frisco Raccoons will head out on the road to take on the Newman Smith Trojans at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Frisco will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Newman Smith is ranked 111th).
Frisco pushed their score all the way to 63 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Reedy on the road by a decisive 78-63 margin.
Meanwhile, Newman Smith put the finishing touches on their 12th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Turner 76-46 on the road. Newman Smith pushed the score to 59-34 by the end of the third, a deficit Turner had little chance of recovering from.
Frisco's loss dropped their record down to 14-16. As for Newman Smith, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.
Frisco lost to Newman Smith on the road by a decisive 69-54 margin when the teams last played back in January. Can Frisco avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
