Princeton has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Martinsburg Bulldogs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Princeton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 540 points over their last 11 matchups.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Princeton had no problem doing just that on Friday. They skirted past the Indians 73-70. Yes, you read that score correctly, and yes, they were playing football.
Princeton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chance Barker, who threw for 503 yards and eight touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Dominick Collins, who gained 349 total yards and five touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Martinsburg put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Huntington as Martinsburg made off with a 49-26 victory. The result was nothing new for Martinsburg, who have now won ten games by 23 points or more so far this season.
Princeton pushed their record up to 12-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Martinsburg, their win bumped their record up to 12-0.
Princeton took a serious blow against Martinsburg when the teams last played back in September of 2016, falling 60-0. Can Princeton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
