Webb hasn't had much luck against Chattanooga Christian recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Spartans will host the Chargers at 3:30 p.m. Webb has given up an average of 18.2 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Webb is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game dating back to last season on Monday. They came up short against Knoxville Catholic, falling 19-5. On the bright side, the five- run performance marked the Spartans' highest-scoring match to date.

Jeneva Mitchell was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Libby Dunaway was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Chattanooga Christian owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They blew past Knoxville Catholic 7-0. Considering the Chargers have won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Hannah Smith made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Smith was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Chattanooga Christian got a great performance from Kylie Black as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Black has posted since back in March.
Smith wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Neely Fillman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Webb's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Chattanooga Christian, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 16-10.
Webb suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Chattanooga Christian when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
