The Harrah Panthers will head out to challenge the Kingston Redskins at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Kingston will be up against a hot Harrah team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Harrah was the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over Meeker on Monday. Considering the Panthers have won five matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Cal Whitnah made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Whitnah was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That hit marked the first that he got this season.
In other pitching news, Breysn Webster looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.
Back at the plate, Brayden Costilla was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Cash Flint was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kingston). They were the clear victor by an 11-3 margin over Hartshorne on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Redskins considering their one-run performance the contest before.
The team relied heavily on Ewan Weaver, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Reid Patterson, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Kingston always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Harrah's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Kingston, their record now sits at 3-1.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Harrah hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .337. However, it's not like Kingston struggles in that department as they've averaged .315. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
