The Coolidge Colts scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. Everything went their way against Eastern as Coolidge made off with a 86-62 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Quintin Cooper, who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 44 points and 3 assists. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Coolidge's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Makiah Gray, who scored 20 points along with seven assists and three steals.
Despite the loss, Eastern still got an impressive performance from Isyah Joyner, who scored 26 points along with nine rebounds. Joyner continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Rashid Faruq was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five assists.
Eastern struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Coolidge pulled down 17 offensive rebounds.
The win was the third in a row for Coolidge, bringing their record for this year to 4-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.3 points per game. As for Eastern, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-1.
Coolidge will head out on the road to face off against Dunbar at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dunbar is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 56 points per game. As for Eastern, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Jackson-Reed at 7:30 p.m. on December 18th. Hopefully Jackson-Reed focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Thursday.
