Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Bishop O'connell

Bishop O'Connell strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against the Episcopal Maroon as they made off with a 21-1 victory. Fans of the Knights have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Charlie Woolfley made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Connor Terreri looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Jack Woda, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Chaz Walker, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Bishop O'Connell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

Bishop O'Connell's record is now 4-0. As for Episcopal, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop O'Connell will host St. Anne's-Belfield at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The last four games the Saints have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Episcopal, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Washington Latin Public Charter School at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
