The DeQuincy Tigers will head out to face off against the Pickering Red Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. DeQuincy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

Maddie Vinatieri spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, DeQuincy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Moore, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Pickering couldn't beat East Beauregard on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Red Devils fell 12-8 to the Trojans. The Red Devils have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Alaura Hough and Lindsey Bartlett stepped up to the plate in a big way. Hough went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Bartlett went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple was Bartlett's first of the season. Emma Jarrell was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
DeQuincy's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 16-10. As for Pickering, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
Everything went DeQuincy's way against Pickering when the teams last played two weeks ago, as DeQuincy made off with an 11-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
