The Miller County Pirates will be playing at home against the Randolph-Clay Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Miller County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 421st, while Randolph-Clay is ranked 190th).
Miller County suffered their biggest loss since December 19, 2023 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 85-39 loss at the hands of Terrell County. Miller County has not had much luck with Terrell County recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Miller County's defeat came about despite a quality game from Javiah Powell, who scored 17 points. Dontravius Burr was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Meanwhile, Randolph-Clay entered their tilt with Terrell County with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Randolph-Clay secured a 68-64 W over Terrell County on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Miller County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Randolph-Clay, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Miller County was able to grind out a solid win over Randolph-Clay in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 66-59. Will Miller County repeat their success, or does Randolph-Clay have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
