The Paraclete Spirits will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Apple Valley Sun Devils at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Paraclete will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
On Tuesday, Paraclete beat Highland 9-4.
Sydney Scripter was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Scripter was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Shaylee Scripter was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jessa Hettiger, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Paraclete lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Apple Valley). Everything went their way against Jurupa Hills on Tuesday as they made off with a 12-4 victory.
Like Paraclete, Apple Valley also got a great game from a two-way player: Makaylee Cerf. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). With that strong performance, Cerf is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Brooke Johnson was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Khloe Beserra, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Paraclete's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Apple Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3-1.
