It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Bayshore Christian Faith Warriors can now relate to. They received a tough blow on Thursday as they fell 71-55 to the Scorpions. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Bayshore Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jace Jreisat, who scored 21 points. Jreisat is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tylan Lewis, who scored 16 points.
Brandon Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lorenzo Bevilacqua led the charge by scoring 21 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bevilacqua has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Shavon Birch, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Bayshore Christian has not been sharp recently as the team has lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-20 record this season. As for Brandon Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-13.
Bayshore Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Brandon Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Sports Leadership & Management at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Sports Leadership & Management's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matchups.
